There are moments when you choose to leave before the lights go out. Not because everything is over, but because you need to understand what you feel. “Promisiuni”, Amedeo's newest single, was born out of that state.
Amedeo is a Romanian singer-songwriter who has spent almost five years building a musical universe of his own, through stories drawn from experiences, emotions and moments of life an audience can easily recognise. “Promisiuni” speaks about those nights that do not end when you leave a place, but keep going in your thoughts long afterwards.
There are promises that remain only words, people who become memories, and questions that find their answer only much later. More than a song about a relationship, it speaks about the courage to leave when you feel it is time, about the calm that comes after the chaos, and about the promises we sometimes make to others and sometimes to ourselves.
“Promisiuni” is the most honest song I have written so far.
It was born from that feeling you get when you choose to leave in the middle of the night, after too much has been said — or perhaps too little. I think each of us has been left, at some point, with promises that were never kept and questions without answers. I would love for people not just to listen to the song, but to find their own story in it. For me, music is not only about what I sing, but about what each person feels when they hear it.

“Promisiuni” is a song where nostalgia, hope and sincerity meet in a pop sound, built around emotions every one of us has felt at least once.
For Amedeo, music is more than a sequence of chords and lyrics. It is a way of documenting experiences, of turning vulnerability into connection, and of creating a space where people feel understood. Every release completes the same artistic story: that emotions should not be hidden, but lived to the full.
Through releases such as “Înghețata”, “Tablou”, “Albastru”, “Ard tot” and “Mai vară”, the artist has built an identity grounded in storytelling, sensitivity and authenticity, exploring love in all its forms — including nostalgia, freedom, growing up and healing.
“Promisiuni” is the kind of song that will mean something different to each listener. For some it will become the soundtrack of a break-up. For others, a summer they will never forget.

Seven questions about freedom, about the two-year break, and about what it takes to build something on your own.
I am a very curious person, full of energy. I don't like standing still and I always feel the need to learn or try something new. Alongside music I have a day job, I spend a lot of time in the studio and I shoot commercials, and all of these experiences develop me in different ways. I think I have always been the kind of person who wants to live as fully as possible, to experiment and to understand the world from several perspectives. That is exactly why I feel that everything I do ends up, in one way or another, in my music.
Music was present in my life from very early on. As a child I used to record cassettes with children's songs, and back then I didn't even realise how much that meant to me. At first it was just play, but as I grew up I understood that music is where I express myself best. There were moments when I drifted away from it, but every time I came back. That is when I realised it is not just a passion, but the path I want to take.
I think it is freedom and, along with it, curiosity. I like talking about anything and, in general, I am the kind of person who always has something to say. I don't want to limit myself to a single subject or a single kind of emotion. I allow myself to feel as much as possible, to go through different experiences and turn them into music. For me, freedom means not being afraid to say exactly what I feel, whether I am talking about love, disappointment, hope or defiance.
Most ideas come from everyday life. From conversations, from the way people change, from the cities I pass through, from relationships that leave a mark, and from seemingly ordinary moments. I am inspired a great deal by human psychology and by the way every person carries a story you cannot see at first glance. I believe the best songs appear when you truly observe the world around you.
One of the hardest periods was when I became an independent artist and, at the same time, took a break of almost two years from music. It was a time full of questions, when I was trying to work out where I wanted to go. It made me understand that success does not come from talent or inspiration alone, but also from patience and consistency. Sometimes you need to take a step back in order to come back stronger and with a clearer sense of what you want to build.
I have always tried to stay myself, no matter the trend of the moment. I think people can sense when an artist is authentic and when they are simply riding a wave. For me, being an independent artist means freedom. But freedom, taken to the extreme, can become a trap. If you give a person too much freedom, without discipline and without direction, there is a risk they will no longer know what to do with it. That is why I believe the real challenge is finding the balance between the freedom to create and the discipline to build something that lasts.
I would like to be an artist who has found his audience without compromising his identity. To be able to make a living from music, to sing in front of people who know my lyrics, and to feel that my songs have meant something to someone. As a person, I hope to be more balanced, more at peace with myself, and not to lose my curiosity or my desire to grow. For me, success is not only recognition, but being able to look back and say that I stayed true to my values and to the person I was from the very beginning.
